Starbucks located only two minutes away from my home opened two weeks ago! This is one of the best things I could ever wished since shelter-in-place. Now I can finally have a coffee break with real coffee, not my Korean instant coffee.
My experience visiting Starbucks after their reopening has been really seamless. I order online and then I visit the store to grab my order. No line. No waiting. No decision making. No paying process in the store. The thing is Starbucks app was always available, but I just didn’t bother to install the app. When it comes to coffee shop, Starbucks was my 3rd or 4th choice, and I already have so many apps on my phone. Why bother? But now Starbucks became my only choice within walking distance. Just to have coffee, I downloaded the app and use it almost every single day!
What is interesting is that they were already offering the seamless experience, yet it took COVID-19 for me to adopt their app O2O(Online to Offline) service. How many great technology and offering died because of missed marketing opportunities or unpredictable external circumstances.
The real estate study shows the home price/value goes up after Starbucks store opened in the neighborhood. Yay!
By the way, my wife loves and cannot live without Korean instant coffee even we have a Nespresso machine at home. lol
