#39 Oculus
I love start-up stories. It narrates both sweat and victory of the founders, early employees, and venture capitalists. The History of the Future: Oculus, Facebook, and the Revolution That Swept Virtual Reality is absolutely one of my favorite books I read in 2019. The author Blake Harris did a great job in writing up of stories of Palmer Luckey and Oculus VR early stage. This 19-year-old Palmer co-founded Oculus VR in 2012. Only two years later, the company was acquired by Facebook for $3 billion dollars. More dramatic story is that he was eventually ousted not just by Facebook, but by entire VR industry in 2017. What a life! Palmer is now 27 years old and is in military defense industry.
Anyway, I just wanted to share thanks to this Palmer Luckey, all of our family members including myself are enjoying Beat Saber game in our living room. I strongly recommend you try it out!
